Equipment Specifications There are 21 basic equipment specifications in 5 categories (clubhead = 10 specs, shaft = 5 specs, grip = 3 specs, finished club = 4 specs). These 21 basic specifications affect the 5 shotmaking factors, but not necessarily equally. Any reputable clubmaker will conduct an extensive personal interview to understand the player's game improvement goals, equipment likes and dislikes and physical limitations as well as measure for proper club length, shaft flex and grip size (among other things). If your clubmaker or clubfitter fails to discuss these basic topics, I suggest you thank them for their time and shop elsewhere, because you're probably headed for major disappointment.
